Lagos recently played host to the highly anticipated De-Fi Summer 2024 event series, organized by the team at NFT_NG.
The three-day event, held from June 23rd to June 27th, 2024, transcended the boundaries of a traditional conference, emerging as a celebration of the decentralized finance (DE-FI) community’s spirit, innovation, and unwavering commitment to social impact.
The event series kicked off with the DE-FI Summer Soccer Tournament, where industry leaders and football fans from across the DE-FI ecosystem showed their athletic abilities on the field.
The second day of the event series saw participants get on a heartwarming visit to the Living Foundation Orphanage in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Essential supplies were distributed, and meaningful interactions with the children and staff members reinforced the event’s commitment to social impact and giving back to the local community.
“DE-FI Summer 2024 was a remarkable success, solidifying the DE-FI community’s dedication to innovation, education, and making a positive impact,” said Momoh Kinsley, Founder of NFT_NG.
Demonstrating the De-Fi community’s dedication to empowering its members, the event organizers at De-Fi Summer 2024 distributed over 30 essential gadgets and tools to attendees.
These “Worktools” included laptops, smartphone devices, hardware wallets, and Wi-Fi routers, equipping the crypto community with the resources they need to thrive.
Furthermore, the team announced the launch of a scholarship program that will begin after the event, providing educational opportunities for aspiring De-Fi enthusiasts.
