Lagos FA assures of fun, adequate security at Fed Cup final

The Director General of Lagos State Sports Commission, Ayo Agbesanwa yesterday assured football fans in Lagos of adequate security, exciting moments and fun filled 2015 Federation Cup finals on Sunday.
Ayodeji Agbesanwa, who disclosed this at a media briefing in Lagos, said the women’s final between Sunshine Queens and Bayelsa Queens will be played by 12 noon while in the men’s final, between Lobi Stars and Awka United will start by 3.00pm at the Teslim Balogun stadium.
He also revealed that there would also be a parade of past stars as well as the honouring of outstanding players, including posthumous awards.
Also to be honoured are referees and journalists who distinguished themselves.
The DG said that there would also be a raffle draw where some spectators could win cash prizes.
Similarly, he said, free t-shirts would be given to first 500 fans to enter the stadium.
“The first spectators to arrive in the stadium would get a free t-shirt and the admission into the game is absolutely free. We want to create a good atmosphere for football loving families to enjoy the game of football, so we would ensure adequate security at the stadium,” he said.
Agbesanwa, who announced that posthumous awards will be given to past football heroes while nine awards will be given to some football legends including referee and sports journalist, named some of the awardees as former Shooting Stars striker, Rashidi Yekini, Baba Otu Mohammed of Mighty Jets, Best Ogedegbe, former Standard of Jos defender, Okey Isima, Friday Ekpo, Sam Opone, Amusa Adisa, Inua Rigogo, Dairu Sadi, and Ifeanyi Ifeanyi Onyedika of Enugu Rangers.
