Lagos East: I sold my house to contest – Female aspirant

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos, Hon Adenike Agnes Shobajo, has made a passionate appeal to party members to support her ambition to emerge the party’s senatorial candidate for the East Senatorial District by-election slated for October 31.

Shobajo, a public relations expert, would be contesting the senatorial ticket for the sixth time, saying she should be given the chance this time around.

The Lagos East seat became vacant following the death of Senator Bayo Osinowo in June, and dozens of aspirants have emerged in both PDP and the ruling APC contesting for it.

Speaking recently, the PDP chieftain recalled selling her house in 2018 to contest for the seat, saying she was denied the opportunity through the primary election which she called “a charade.”

“This is to inform you that I’m firmly in the race for the vacant seat of the Lagos East Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

“Please support me to get the ticket and see what God will do.

“Yeye Hon Adenike Agnes Shobajo is a devoted and committed PDP loyalist since 1998, who is still serving the party.

“I have contested five times. I sold my house in Amuwo Odofin in 2018,” she said.
