The corpse of a 15-year-old boy, Jerome Chukwuemaka, has been discovered in his father’s room at the Ago-Okota area of Lagos.
The police said that the hands of the boy were tired from behind while his throat had a deep cut, suggesting that he was gang-killed.

A neighbour said, “This is purely a cult killing and the deceased might have known the identities of his killers for him to have allowed them into his father’s house.”
Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the incident, said the father of the deceased, Jerome Akunwanne, of No 54, Niyi Onilare Street, off Lateef Adegboyega Street, Ago-Okota, reported at the station that on October 10, 2022, at about 7pm when he came back from work he saw a group of people gathered and shouting in front of his compound.
Hundeyin said, “The man said that the group alleged that his son, Jerome Chukwuemaka (15), who he left at home was dead.
“He added that when he went into his room, he met the body of his son on the floor with his hands tied to the back with a rope while his neck was slaughtered.”
Hundeyin said the case had been referred to the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Operations) and that a police extract had been issued to the deceased’s father to deposit the corpse at the mortuary for autopsy.
