The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday rejected one of the five nominees presented by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the Lagos State Audit Service Commission.

It however, confirmed three others.

Governor Sanwo-Olu had on May 13, 2020 sent a letter containing the names of five nominees for the commission to the State assembly as read by the Clerk of the House, Mr. Azeez Sanni.

The House, after a voice vote supervised by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru A. Obasa on Thursday, confirmed the nomination of Mrs. Oluwatoyin Adepeju Adegbuji-Onikoyi as Chairperson; Mr. Emmanuel Sunday Kappo, (member) and Mrs. Jokotola Ojosipe-Ogundimu, member while it rejected the nomination of Mr. Abiodun Oladipupo Akhigbe.

The fifth nominee, Mr. Jimoh Akerele Ibrahim was absent.

The chairperson of the commission, Mrs. Adegbuji-Onikoyi was born on February 14, 1956.

She attended the University of Lagos where she graduated with a Degree in Accounting and later got a MBA.

She has worked in many local government secretariats in the State for 23 years.

She also worked at the Ministry of Finance as Director of Audit and later became the Permanent Secretary before she retired in 2016.
