The Lagos State House of Assembly has set up an ad-hoc committee to investigate the procurement of 820 buses by the immediate past governor of the state, Akinwunmi Ambode.
The lawmakers said the procurement, worth N45 billion, was in defiance of their position against it.
Speaker Mudashiru Obasa said the house needed to prevent waste.
He said the vehicles at the port were still there for almost a year.
He asked the committee to invite the Accountant General of the state, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and others involved in the purchase to explain what they knew about the purchase.
