The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has raised alarm that some elements in the state are planning to mobilise people for demonstrations aimed at destroying the state.

This was disclosed yesterday by the state publicity secretary of the party, Oluseye Oladejo, at a press briefing.

The party also debunked reports that the governorship and House of Assembly elections in the state were marred by violence and intimidation, saying the allegations could not be substantiated.

He said, “May I alert the security agencies by calling their attention to meetings on Twitter space towards mobilising unsuspecting people for demonstrations aimed at destroying Lagos State; a replica of the #EndSARS saga.

“It is on record that there are 13,325 polling units in Lagos State and there were reports of disturbances in about 130 or one per cent of all the polling units.

“I think that is too infinitesimal for anyone to rely upon to say that the elections were not free and fair. In other words, under no circumstance can we say this has invalidated the credibility of the elections.”

Daily Trust reports that the opposition LP and PDP rejected the outcomes of the March 18, elections in Lagos, where the incumbent Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, was declared the winner.
