Hours after the Clement Ebiri-led National Working Committee (NWC) monitoring team on the gubernatorial primary of the Lagos State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) dismissed the primary conducted earlier on Tuesday, the State Chairman, Tunde Balogun has announced Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the controversial exercise.
Balogun, who announced the result of the primary, said Sanwo-Olu secured 970,851 votes against the current Lagos Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s 72,901 votes.
He said by the virtue of the total number of votes cast, Sanwo-Olu will be the party’s gubernatorial flagbearer at the general elections in 2019, saying Sanwo-Olu is the party’s candidate.
