Kwara State has emerged as Unicef’s winner on immunisation coverage in the North Central with a cash prize of $500,000.
Speaking at the meeting of the Task Force on Immunisation and Primary Healthcare in Ilorin at the weekend, the state’s Deputy Governor and Chairman of the task force, Mr Kayode Alabi, who disclosed this, expressed determination of the state government in achieving the highest peak of success on immunisation coverage in the country.

Mr Alabi, who said that the award, won by the Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, was given through a Unicef mechanism method, to improve PHC in the state.
Also speaking, the Executive Secretary of the Kwara State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Nusirat Elelu, said Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq had created a work plan to develop the PHC system with the fund.
