High-riding Kwara United continued with their impressive run in the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, season with another emphatic 3-0 victory over visiting Dakkada FC of Uyo in one of the week 10 matches played on Sunday at the Ilorin Township stadium.

Wasiu Alade opened scoring for the hosts in the 14th minute before Michael Ohanu and Alao Danbani scored a goal each in the second half to hand the ‘Afonja warriors’ the maximum points.

Kwara United with 21 points same as Enyimba are on top of the table on superior goal difference but all that may change as soon as the postponed fixture between Enyimba and Warri Wolves is decided.

Enyimba’s match with Wolves was postponed due to their continental engagement with Rivers United.

Kano Pillars also ascended to the 3rd position on the table after they squeezed past MFM 1-0 in Kaduna.

The ‘masu gida’ boys picked the maximum points with the last kick of the ball when Umar Hassan sneaked in behind the visitors’ defence to score the all important goal in the third minute of added time.

And Nasarawa United who had gone three matches without a point also bounced back to winning ways with a hard fought 2-1 victory over visiting Akwa United.

‘Pocket dynamite’ Hassan Adamu gave the ‘solid miners’ the lead in the 56th minute but Ndifereke Effiong levelled scores for the ‘promise keepers’ in the 63rd minute before Ebuka Anaekwe hit a one-time shot in added time to seal all points for Nasarawa United.

Elsewhere, Adamawa United’s winless run continued in Gombe where they were forced to 1-1 draw by FC IfeanyiUbah but Katsina United turned back Jigawa Golden Stars 1-0 in Katsina courtesy of Samuel Kalu’s goal in the 40th minute.

Wikki Tourists and Sunshine Stars match ended 0-0 at the Tafawa Balewa stadium in Bauchi.

Week 10 fixtures will continue today with a double header in Okigwe where Heartland are to square up with embattled Lobi Stars and Abia Warriors confront neighbours Enugu Rangers.
