The burial of Yetunde Balogun, who allegedly poisoned herself in Ilorin, Kwara State, has generated a fresh controversy between the families of the husband and that of the deceased.

Yetunde, who was survived by her two children, was accused by her husband family to have poisoned herself over disagreement with her hubby, Dare.

But another narration claimed she was allegedly poisoned by her mother-in-law because she was a Christian.

However, fresh fact uncovered by City & Crime revealed that Yetunde accepted Islam after her marriage which did not go down well with her family.

As a result, her burial had become another subject of controversy between the two families over her final resting place.

“The deceased’s family wanted her to be buried in Osun, her home state but that did not go down well with the husband’s family who wanted to properly monitor her  burial in line with Islamic injunctions having converted before her death,” a source in the know confided in our correspondent.

When contacted on Thursday, the deceased sister, Pelumi only said ‘she was buried in Ilorin’.

Meanwhile, it was gathered that autopsy had been conducted at the Ilorin General Hospital.

The result of the autopsy, which is expected to be out, in a month time, is expected to resolve the protracted disagreement over her death.
