Traditional and religious leaders in Kwara North district of Kwara state have expressed support for the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Edu/Patigi/Moro federal constituency, Hon. Mahmoud Hassan Babako, as their preferred representative at the National Assembly.
Speaking during his separate visits to the traditional rulers in Patigi, Tshonga, Lafiagi and Tsharagi all in Edu and Patigi Local Government Areas of the state at the weekend, the monarchs described Babako as a thoroughbred grassroots politician who would better articulate the yearnings and aspirations of the people of his constituency if elected.
The royal fathers also played glowing tributes to the parents of Babako for their roles in the development of the Nupe lands both at home and in diaspora.
Speaking with journalists after the visit, Babako said the essence of the visit was to seek royal blessings from the traditional leaders and to assure them and the people of the constituency his total commitment to the development of the constituency through bills and motions that are germane to their aspirations.
He expressed satisfaction with the high esteem the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, hold the youths in Kwara state, saying that the development informed the decision of Saraki to allow inclusion of young minds like him to aspire for political positions in the state.
Meanwhile, Babako revealed that the next line of visit of his campaign team would largely be in Moro LGA considering the LGA’s strategic importance in the district and his electoral victory.
