Kwara: More trouble for traditionalist as group files fresh charges over Qur’an burning

A Muslim group, Modrasatul Muhammed, led by a popular radio presenter, Prof Abubakar Aliagan, has filed fresh charges against popular traditionalist, Abdulazeez Adegbola (Tani Olohun) in a magistrates’ court for disrespecting the Qur’an by tearing and setting it on fire in a viral video.

City & Crime recalls that Tani-Ọlọhun recently got bail in two of three cases instituted against him in magistrates’ courts by some Islamic groups and individuals over alleged defamation.

Counsel to the complainant in the fresh case, Barrister Usman Imam, told the court that his client believed the action of the defendant (Tani Olohun) was illegal and unlawful.

He added that Tani Olohun had refused to collect the service from the court bailiff when it was taken to him.

Counsel to the defendant, Ademọla Banks, sought time to meet with his client and do the needful over the development.

The Magistrate, Muhammed Adam, adjourned the case to November 14, 2023.
