A renowned Islamic cleric in Ilorin, Kwara State, Sheikh Shuaib AbdulSalam, has died.
Abdulsalam died on Wednesday morning following a protracted illness at the age of 68.

Late AbdulSalam, a Sufist and Imam of Maraba, was a top Tijjaniyyah scholar who had a large following and was highly respected in the state.
A mammoth crowd of Muslim faithful attended the funeral prayer which attracted top dignitaries from the religious and government circles.
Security operatives had a hectic time controlling the crowd and traffic at Oniyangi, Emir’s Road residence of the deceased where the prayer took place.
The Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Mohammed Bashir Salihu, led the prayer.
The Secretary of the Committee of Muslim Organisations (CMO), Kwara State, Sheikh Yusuf Murtadoh, described him as a pious Muslim who devoted his life to knowledge and impacting the lives of the Muslims beyond description.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq described his death as painful, praying Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him al-Jannah.
