Kwara journalist, Allen wins Harmony golf tourney

Jide Allen of Ilorin Golf Club emerged the overall winner at the 2nd edition of the Harmony Golf Tournament in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The veteran sports journalist with Radio Kwara played a total of 75 gross to beat a field of over 150 golfers drawn from various golf clubs across the country.

Habeeb Akeem of Ilorin Golf Club finished in second place with a gross of 77, while Paul Adache finished  third, a further shot back in 78.

The overall net prize went to Samson Oladele of Rosany Golf Club, Erinmope, Ekiti State with a net of 73, beating Lawal Ayomiposi of Ilorin Golf Club to second place. Mustapha Abdulmalik picked the third net.

Other winners in the 18 holes competition are Ibrahim Salami, winner of the guest category who beat Ibrahim Adeyemi to second place using the come-back rule after the two ended with 69 net.

Rafiu Balogun finished third in an all Ilorin Golf Club affairs. 

Grace Adeyinka of Ekiti Golf Club won the best gross ladies category while Lynda Taiwo won the best net ladies as Obioma Elijah clinched the second net.

Iyabo Ayinde won the Super Veteran category for the women while Sheriff Olani carted away the Super veteran men’s category prize.

Four members of the BoT, Hon. Justice Lambo Akanbi (Rtd) Chairman,  Engr. Lanre Sagaya, Otunba Olusola Adekanola and Otunba Layi Maliki competed for the BoT prize which was won by Otunba Adekanola with 83 net.
