Kwara gov, predecessor trade words over N11.9bn loot

Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, claimed on Thursday that at least N11.9bn of public funds was looted from the treasury of the state between 2011 and 2019, under the administration of former Governor Abdulfattah Ahmed.

The governor, in a statement on Thursday, attributed the alleged malfeasance to a forensic audit report, adding that the huge funds were not tied to any lawful project or programme.

However, the former governor, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Wahab Oba, during a telephone chat with Daily Trust, described the allegations as preposterous, naive, unspecific and generally unfounded.
