Kwara Gov, Jack-Rich, others to lead SGF Honouring Committee

Central Planning Committee of the Reception dinner of the newly appointed Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator Dr. George Akume, has been announced.

The reception dinner of the SGF powered by friends of Sen. Dr. Akume and have assembled high profiled personalities to champion the organization of the reception dinner tagged “Celebration of an Icon.”

Members of the Central planning Committee include His Excellency AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Kwara State Governor who is the Chairman of the Steering Committee, Chief Kanayo Okoye the Co-Chairman , Amb. Ginika Tor-Ijeomah as Secretary, Tien Jack-Rich as Head of Finance, Dr. Bello Maigari ,Co-Chairman Finance, Sir. Barr. Olusegun Adekunle, Head of Protocol, Rt. Hon. Omonbowale Idimogu, Head of Media & Publicity, Dr. Yusuf Maina-Bukar, Head of Welfare and Alh. Adamu Useni ZBCC ,Co-Head of Welfare. Sen. Anthony Manzo, Head of Venue Committee, Hon. Born 27 December 1953, Akume is a technocrat and politician who is the current 21st Secretary to the Government of the Federation, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Akume obtained a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a master’s degree in Labour Relations from the University of Ibadan. In 1999, he became the Governor of Benue State and served two terms of four years.

He won elections to represent the good people of Benue as a Senator for Benue North-West at the red chambers of the Senate in April 2011, running on the platform of  Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).

He polled 261,726 votes, defeating Terngu Tsegba of the PDP who won 143,354 votes. He was again re-elected to the Senate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015 where he emerged Senate minority leader in the 7th Assembly.
