Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State has approved the appointment of the Etsu Patigi, Alhaji Umar Bologi II, as the Amirul Hajj for the 2023 Hajj exercise in the state.
Following the appointment, Bologi, who is the Vice Chairman of the state’s Council of Traditional Chiefs, will lead the state’s delegation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for this year’s pilgrimage.
He will also support the state’s Muslims Pilgrims Welfare Board in the effort to make the stay of Kwara pilgrims in the Holy Land worthwhile and provide spiritual support for them to perform the religious rites.
The pilgrims’ board under the chairmanship of Dr Abdulkadir Sambo Sambaki and the Executive Secretary, Alhaji Abdulsalam Abdulkadir, welcomed the appointment.

They said preparations for the 2023 Hajj were ongoing ahead of the inaugural flight which would be announced in due course.
