Kwara Falcons’ free-fall at 2023 BAL continues with another loss

Nigeria’s representative at the ongoing Basketball League Africa (BAL) in Dakar, Kwara Falcons suffered another setback yesterday in their third group match after they were beaten 85-75 by the defending champions, Union Sportive Monastirienne of Tunisia.

Yesterday’s loss has left the Kwara State owned basketball club winless and firmly rooted at the bottom of the Sahara Conference table.

It will be recalled that Kwara Falcons tasted their first defeat on Monday when they lost their opening group match 64-48 to Rwanda Energy Group (REG) and suffered another defeat on Tuesday when they lost by a narrow margin of 74-78 to Stade Malien of Mali in the Sahara Conference.

Next for Kwara Falcons is today’s fixture against Association Sportive des Douances who are presently fourth on the table.

According to the league organizers, only the top four teams from the Sahara and Nile Conferences would advance to the BAL Playoffs, which will take place at BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda from May 21-27.

Kwara Falcons who face a bleak future have two more matches to at least redeem their battered image.
