Kwara: Deputy Governor advises Nigerians to go for regular checks

The Deputy Governor of Kwara state, Mr Kayode Alabi has urged Nigerians to go for regular check ups to avoid blindness and ensure a healthy life.

Alabi made the call while receiving members of the State Chapter, Nigeria Ophthalmic Nurses Association led by its Chairman, Mrs Oluwatoyin Opawoye in his office.

The Deputy Governor said government would support the various professional bodies in the health sector to ensure effective health care delivery for the people.

Earlier the Chairman of the Association, Opawoye said the body had been playing its role in ensuring the prevention of avoidable blindness in the urban and rural areas.

She disclosed that the State would host the 3oth third annual National Conference of the Association with the theme “Vision 2020: the right to sight, countdown to final lap” from the 9th to 13th of next month in Ilorin.
