The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) said it has intercepted 64 drums loaded with Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), popularly known as petrol, in the Bokoro axis, a border town in Baruten LGA of Kwara State.
The Controller of NSC in the state, Faith Matthew Ojeifo, disclosed this at a public relations conference of the National Association of Polytechnic Students (NAPS) in Ilọrin with the theme: “Advancing Security in Nigeria within Social Context: Students Safety Matters”, organised in honour of the state’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Victor Olaiya.

The controller, who was represented by the command’s spokesman, Zakari Chado, explained that the seizure came at a time when the citizens were struggling to obtain the commodity at affordable prices.
Also speaking, CP Olaiya said security and development were inseparable because “no investors would be willing to invest in an atmosphere laced with fear and anxiety.”
