Controller, Kwara state command of the Nigerian Correctional Service, Adeyinka Adebayo Oyun, is dead.
In a statement by the public relations officer (PRO) of the command, Adegbulugbe Philip Olumide, said the controller died “suddenly” in the early hours of Saturday.
He said late Oyun was in the office until 6:00 pm on Friday.
“His sudden death is a colossal loss to the entire staff of the command. He was an active, dedicated, committed and a transparent leader. His Burial Arrangement will be announced later,” he said.

Speaking further with our correspondent on phone, Adegbulugbe said, “He was to retire August 19, 2026. He was full of life and joking with everybody before he left office.
“Some of his neighbours said he went to cut his hair when he got home. He died in his sleep as he was pronounced dead at the hospital where was rushed to Saturday morning.”
