A fire outbreak at Oja-Iya, Ilorin, Kwara State, has destroyed the house of a traditional ruler in Kwara State.
The incident, it was gathered, occurred at the weekend, following a power surge after electricity was restored to the area.
The property was said to belong to the Daudu of Ojodu.
Speaking on the incident, the spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunle, said the inferno completely destroyed the three-bedroom building.
He said, “Upon arrival, firefighters found a three-bedroom apartment engulfed in flames, with the fire concentrated in the bedrooms.

“Despite the advanced stage of the fire, the crew worked tirelessly to extinguish it and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
“Unfortunately, all the three bedrooms were completely destroyed due to the delayed emergency call.”
Adekunle added that “The director of the service, Prince Falade John, sympathised with the Daudu and other affected residents of the compound.’’
