The Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has approved the new minimum wage of N70,000 for the state government’s employees.
The Commissioner for Finance, Hajia Hauwa Nuru, in a statement said the approved wage will be implemented across the state public service with immediate effect from October 2024.
She said the decision which encompasses consequential adjustments to the pertinent salary structures was reached after a tripartite meeting involving government representatives and the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), the Joint Negotiating Council (JNC), and representatives from the organised private sector.
Nuru said the template also covers workers in the 16 local government areas of the state.
