The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kwara State on Tuesday disclosed that 24 accident victims were treated in the month of September for various injuries.
The corps said the figures were from their five zonal clinics in Ilọrin, Omu-Aran, Bode-Sadu, Olooru and Tsaragi in Irepodun, Moro, Edu and Ilọrin West LGAs of the state.
Speaking with City & Crime during a free medical outreach in Ilọrin on Tuesday, the matron of the zonal clinics in the state, Mrs Ubaka Esther Motunrayo, said “24 road accident crashes were treated for the month of September. This is aside other ailments across our coverage areas.”
She said the treatment was part of a directive from the headquarters to benefit their host communities.

Mrs Ubaka said the outreach was the last for the quarter, adding that the clinic will soon be NHIA accredited.
She called on the people of their various host communities in the state to take advantage of the clinics to improve their health free of charge.
Asked about measures being taken to guide against distribution of expired drugs, Mrs Ubaka said the clinic is ISO compliant and the latter undertake a periodic inspection of their drugs.
She said, “If we have expired drugs, we write to the zonal commander who asks that auditor to verify before they are destroyed. We are given money to run the clinic monthly and I will implore the people to take advantage of our medical facilities and full health personnel to improve their health.
“Some people are not aware that we offer such services. Apart from going to parks, mosques and schools, we treat people in our host communities free of charge.”
