Reacting to the Daily Trust Saturday inquiry on the statistics on Friday, the Head of the Department of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Hakeem Adekunle, identified three major causes in relation to the incidents.

“From January 2023 till date, we have been able to recover 12 people dead from domestic wells and four from the rivers respectively, who jumped inside and drowned.

“Through our investigations, we identified three primary causes for these incidents – carelessness, ignorance and mental health issues.
