The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano State has elected new executives to steer the affairs of the party in the state with Yusuf Ado Kibiya as the new chairman.
Kiyaba served as Commissioner for Agriculture during the administration of Governor Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso between 1999 and 2003.
He contested the party’s governorship ticket in 2007 but lost to his benefactor, Kwankwaso, who was substituted with Ahmed Garba Bichi.
The results of the election which started on Saturday were announced on Sunday by the chairman of the election committee, Halilu Abubakar Mazagani.

Kibiya scored 3,964 votes to clinch the position while his opponent, Nura Nuhu, scored 244 votes.
Following the announcement, Barrister Abdul Fatah Muhammad administered the oath of office to the 39 newly elected state party leaders, including Hon. Kibiya.
In his acceptance speech, Hon. Kibiya thanked party members for their confidence and promised to lead with transparency and inclusiveness aimed at strengthening the party in the state.
