The Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Danladi Chiya, said plans are under way to establish poultry farms across the 10 wards of the council.
Chiya disclosed this when he paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources in his office in Abuja yesterday.
He said the council’s intention to go into poultry farming was part his administration’s drive to explore another avenue of generating revenue.
He said Agriculture has always been one of his administration’s top priorities, adding that the council was blessed with fertile land and would leverage on it to create employment for the teeming youths of the area.
He maintained that poultry farming was one of the greatest aspects that enhance human development, even as he said other area councils will also copy from him.
The chairman, therefore, solicited the support of the minister to achieve his desired objective.
Responding, the Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, Alhaji Sabo Nanono, appreciated the council chairman for the visit, while assuring him of the ministry’s support to rural farmers in Kwali area council.
