Work is ongoing for the 10-shopping complex renovation project at Cross-Kauwa town in Kukawa local government area of Borno state.

Several structures were destroyed by Boko Haram insurgency. The Caretaker Chairman, Alhaji Mohammed Kyari’s face lit up with a smile seeing the work so far done on arrival at the renovation site.

Inspecting the building, he commended the contractor, saying, “I’m highly impressed with the renovation work done so far.”

He also extolled the sense of belonging shown to them by Governor Kashim Shettima, who helped the council to expedite the rehabilitation of destroyed infrastructures in the area.

Kyari, shortly after the inspection also visited the Commanding Officer at the Army base located within the Cross-Kauwa town.

There, he applauded the successes of the military in the ongoing fight against insurgents to make the area and the adjoining areas peaceful. He presented a tree-cutting machine, cutlasses and axes for cleaning forested areas across the town.
