Kpunpamo hails Bosso’s appointment as Bayelsa United coach

A United Kingdom based former footballer and the Director of Bayelsa football academy, Awoala Kpunpamo, has said that the appointment of Ladan Bosso as the Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United will impact positively on the club in the 2024/2025 Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

The 56-year-old football tactician is returning to Bayelsa United for a second stint after managing the club between 2012 and 2014.

Bayelsa United who narrowly avoided relegation in the last day of the league last season will aim for glory with the new manager.

Speaking during his unveiling in Yenagoa on Tuesday, Bosso who doubles as president of Nigerian football coaches association said “This is our job and we will do what we know how to do best.

“This is my second time at Bayelsa United and I remember we were able to pick a continental ticket and I think this time around we will improve on that.”

Reacting to Bosso’s appointment, Kpunpamo said it was a smart move for Bayelsa United to turn to the highly experienced tactician following their poor showing in the NPFL last season.

“Coach Bosso, is the right man for the job. He has seen it all with so many clubs in the NPFL. His arrival will change the situation in Bayelsa United.

“If given all the necessary support, I have no iota of doubt in my mind about his ability to deliver,” he said.

He reiterated that Bosso had managed a number of clubs in the NPFL, including Kano Pillars, Wikki Tourists, Abia Warriors and El-Kanemi Warriors and will bring that good experience to the Yenagoa.
