Mr Kunle Elebute has been appointed chairman for KPMG Africa.
A statement from the firm stated that Elebute, an economist and accountant, is a member of the KPMG Global board and continues to sit on the KPMG Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMA) board.
He is presently the national senior partner for KPMG Nigeria, a position he would combine with his new appointment. Elebute qualified as a chartered accountant in 1986 and has led various strategic and trans-formational projects for local & global clients. According to the statement, with his appointment, Elebute is expected to bring his outstanding client service and leadership credentials, alongside in-depth knowledge of the African market and business environment into KPMG Africa. Commenting on his appointment, Mr Elebute said: “With 33 offices servicing 54 countries, KPMG is well represented across the African continent.
“The firm’s extensive network of practices enables KPMG to ensure that our clients have access to a blend of professionals who are well versed with local conditions, giving them access to skilled resources, no matter where they are in Africa.”
He said that the appointment was to further sustain its corporate pedigree and reposition the company for better service delivery and market penetration.
