Adamawa State Chapter of KOWA Party has sued the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the National and State House of Assembly Election Tribunal sitting in Yola for excluding its candidate, Kwamoti Laori.
The party said the name of its candidate was excluded from the February 13, 2016, rerun election for Numan/Demsa/Lamurde Federal Constituency which was won by Talatu Yohanna, the candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC).
The case was mentioned at the Tuesday sitting of the tribunal, presided over by Justice Mosunmola Dipeolu before it was adjourned to April 20.
Joining the INEC, the APC and Talatu as first, second and third respondents respectively, the party asked the tribunal to nullify the election on the ground that its nominee was unlawfully excluded.
The Kowa prayed the tribunal to give directive for fresh rerun with Laori as its candidate.
