The Progressives Peoples Alliance (PPA) has raised alarm over alleged plot by some politicians to upturn the Kogi Central Senatorial district rerun election result which the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared as inconclusive.
National chairman of PPA, Chief Peter Ameh, said yesterday in a statement that the party would resist any attempt to declare any other political party winner of the election.
He recalled there was no winner in Saturday’s rerun because, the returning officer, Mr. Salihu James, declared the election inconclusive, following the cancellation of over 20,000 votes which affected the entire Otutu ward, two polling units at Upogoro in Okene Local Government Area, and in Karaworo, Eresuha and Inozomi wards in Adavi Local Government Area, due to alleged electoral malpractices.
