Kogi LG chair leads raid on cultists’ hideout, nab 1, recover pistol

The chairman of Lokoja LGA of Kogi State, Mohammed Dan’asabe, On Wednesday, led a joint security forces to raid on a cult group’s hideout at Anguwar Kabawa in Lokoja metropolis in which one cult member was arrested and a pistol recovered.

Mr Dan’asabe, who disclosed this to our reporter, said the raid became necessary due to the activities of cult members, explaining that their activities, especially at Anguwar Kabawa, had continued to pose a serious threat to the lives and property of residents. He said there was no day that passed without reports of attacks on people, especially under the Kabawa Bridge, by suspected cult members, a situation which he noted prompted him to mobilise and lead security agents to raid their hideout.

The chairman, who gave the name of the arrested cult member as Benjamin Oruma, disclosed that a locally made pistol with a bullet, a cutlass and charms were recovered from the suspects and that they had been handed over to security agents.
