The Kogi State Hajj Commission has praised the Independent Hajj Reporters, a civil society organization that monitors and reports hajj/umrah activities in Nigeria, for honouring the Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello as the 2018 Hajj Governor of the year.
It would be recalled that in a statement jointly signed by the national coordinator, Ibrahim Muhammed and the Planning Committee Organizing Secretary, Mallam Garba Muhammad said the event is meant to show appreciation to those who contributed to the tremendous achievements recorded in hajj exercise in the past few years.
A statement issued on Thursday by the Kogi State Hajj Commission chairman, Sheikh Luqman Imam, noted that the Governor has been very committed to Hajj operations and all the activities of the commission, saying that he was not surprised that the group has decided to single him out for the highest honour
According to the chairman, the commission would continue to put in its best to ensure that the state Hajj Commission maintains its leading position among other Hajj Commissions across the country.
“We would continue to perform our duties meticulously to justify the confidence reposed on us by the Executive Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.
“We will also make the welfare of pilgrims our utmost concern. We are going to improve on our record of 2018 which stand us out. We will never let the state down through our action or inaction.
“The commission wishes the Governor well and prays for more laurels for him in the days ahead”, the statement said.
