A group, Ebira People Association (EPA) has called on the Kogi State Government to commence the rotation of chairmanship of State Council of Chiefs among the three senatorial districts.
Until this call, the chairman of Kogi State Council of Chiefs is usually the paramount ruler of Igala land, the Attah Igala.

The president-general of the association, Dr Abdulrahman Adeiza, said the group proposed the rotation of the chairmanship among Ebira, Kotonkarfe/Lokoja, Igala and Okun area traditional councils.
He said decentralising the chairmanship would foster unity, engender rapid development and ensure democratisation of all institutions with its attendant dividends in the state.
