Kogi govt begins free medical outreach for flood victims

The Kogi State government has flagged-off delivery of drugs and health services for victims of flood across nine local government areas of the state.

Special Adviser to the Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Abubakar Ohere at the flag-off in KotonKarfe on Friday said  Governor Yahaya Bello was concerned about the health and well-being of the victims.

Ohere who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Engr Usman Dan Victor, commended the administrators of the 21 LGAs for pooling their resources together in procuring medicament for the victims.

Leader of the medical team, Dr Gabriel Enefu said they would provide free medical check-up, drugs, water treatment tablets and mosquito nets for the victims across the nine local government areas.

Earlier, the medical team paid a courtesy call on the Ohimege-Igu KotonKarfe, Alhaji Abdulrasaq Isah Koto to solicit his supports for the exercise.

Some of the flood victims, Mallam Muhammed Adamu, Inuwa Ali and Rabi Seidu thanked the government for attending to their health needs.
