Ahead of tomorrow’s (Saturday) governorship election, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of Kogi state governorship election, has advised motorists travelling to the eastern parts of the country through the state to take another route.
A statement by the state police command’s spokesman, SP Williams Ovye Ayah, made available to newsmen on Friday, urged travellers particularly those that may wish to ply through Lokoja-Okene axis to find alternative routes to the east and west.

He said the directive followed the restriction of vehicular movement as directed by the DIG in charge of Kogi state election.
According to him, vehicles plying the route will be restricted from 12 midnight on Friday, November, 10, 2023 to 6am on Saturday, November, 11, 2023 respectively.
He said the DIG, therefore, appealed to the general public to adhere to the order to avoid any inconveniences such motorists might encounter.
