Kogi gov’ship: APC urges police to fish out killers of member in Koton Karfe crisis

The Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has asked the police to fish out killers of its member at Koton Karfe last Friday.

The Spokesman/Director, Media and Publicity, Kogi APC Governorship Campaign Council, Evangelist Kingsley Fanwo, made the demand yesterday in Lokoja, the state capital, during a press conference.

He said the elections are won on the ballot and not via the bullet, stressing that the security operatives should ensure the killers of their member “Don’t walk freely without consequences.”

The statement reads in part “While we commiserate with the family and the entire people of Koton Karfe; we call on security agencies to ensure that those who threatened to kill and went ahead to kill have undoubtedly declared war on the Nigerian state.

“We salute the people of Koton Karfe for their perseverance and calm in the face of an unprovoked invasion and murder. We assure you of justice. The murdered won’t die in vain; the masterminds must pay for the blood of the innocent woman.”

He called on APC supporters to remain calm as the Campaign Council awaits the full reports of security agencies over the incident for necessary action.

The statement added that the APC will “Remain uncompromisingly committed to an issue-based campaign that is devoid of violence, ethnocentric narratives or divisive tendencies.”
