Wife of Kogi State Governor, Mrs Rashida Bello has empowered 47 women and youth who were trained in various skills to enable them become self reliant.
Speaking on Wednesday at the graduation ceremony of the Rashida Bello Foundation Skills Acquisition Programme in Lokoja, Mrs. Rashida Bello admonished women and youths to engage in skills development as this would reduce poverty rate and also help them find their place on the economic ladder of the society.
She urged the graduands to keep “the flag flying” by training others and making maximum and profitable use of the skills they have acquired.
Daily Trust reports that the graduands who were presented with working tools such as computers, hairdryers, sewing machines and catering equipment to begin their businesses.
Speaking at the ceremony, wife of the Administrator of Lokoja Local Government Area, Mrs. Fatima Shiru Lawal lauded Mrs Bello for her gesture towards women and youths in the state and encouraged the graduands to remain focused and take full advantage of their training to add value to the society.
