The Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has elected Gabriel Amari as its new chairman to lead the union for the next four years in the state.
Amari, who was unanimously elected during the NLC 8th Quadrennial State Delegates Conference on Tuesday in Lokoja, is the Chairman of the Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria (MHWUN) in the state.
Others elected are Ebenezer Adeyemi and Opaluwa Eleojo as Vice Chairmen; Salifu Joel (Treasurer); Omuya Momoh and Awodi Ochala as Adutors; and Bolanle Inubiwon & Oyiza Sanni as Ex-Officios.
The returning officer, Roseline Uba, swore in the new executive members at the event.

The NLC National President, Joe Ajaero, represented by Uba at the event, charged the new executives to work together to improve workers’ welfare.
Earlier, the Chairman of the Accreditation Committee of NLC Delegates Election, Saliu Ogaza, said eight candidates who applied for eight available elective positions in the state had no opponents and were returned unopposed.
In her remarks, the state Head of Service (HOS), Mrs Hannah Odiyo, who spoke on behalf of the state governor, congratulated the new NLC executive team, urging them to surpass the achievements of the previous leaders.
