Kogi First Lady donates to quadruplets in National Hospital

The Founder of the Hayat Foundation and wife of Kogi State Governor, Hajiya Amina Oyiza Yahaya Bello, has donated materials worth several thousands of Naira to the family of Mr. Ernest Emejo Amodu to cater for their quadruplets.

Speaking when she led the management of the foundation to the National Hospital in Abuja on Saturday, where the Amodu’s family was still admitted to stabilize the all-girl quadruplets, Mrs. Bello said her foundation was touched considering that it is not easy to cater for one baby by many Nigerians let alone four at a time.

“We are touched and happy on this development. We also want to use this opportunity to tell Nigerians that there is no need going abroad for medical tourism; we have the facilities here in Nigeria. I gave birth to one of my children here (National Hospital) and the successful delivery of the quadruplets and others is a testimony,” she said.

The Executive Director of the Hayat Foundation, Mrs. Robo Oduwole, said the foundation though more concern on cerebral palsy and disabilities, decided to donate materials to the quadruplets, including pampers, clothes, diapers and food materials among others.

“Whenever we heard of multiple births like this, we are usually very committed that the children are well taken care of, that the mother is well fed and taken care of too as this would impact on the overall wellbeing of their children,” she said.

The Matron of the National Hospital, Mrs. Kishimi Habibat, told Daily Trust that they were all happy at the successful delivery of the quadruplets and that the cooperation and professionalism at the hospital was responsible for their record successes on delivering multiple births.

The Kogi State born parents of the quadruplets, Mr and Mrs. Amodu expressed appreciation to the foundation, well-wishers and the hospital management for taking care of them.

The mother, Mrs. Temitope Amodu, told Daily Trust that the hospital management graciously waived her fees and that she was also concerned on getting a better job and her husband to cater for the girls as well as their three-year old elder brother.
