The Kogi State Local Government chapter of the Council of Ulamas has charged the newly elected Chairman of the Council, Alhaji Isah Abdulkarim, to give priority to providing viable infrastructure that will have an impact on the lives of people of the area.

The Chairman of the Council, Ustaz Muhammad B. Ibrahim, made the call when he led his members on a congratulatory visit to the council boss.

He said the only thing the council chairman would do to impact on the  lives of the masses was for him to embark on the provision of social amenities such as  health centres, the opening of rural roads, sinking of boreholes, scholarships for indigent students and security of lives and property of the people.

Ustaz Ibrahim, maintained that the council was  an institution concerned  with the responsibility of nurturing the young ones to become religiously equipped and strongly built with foresight in the service and worship of Allah.

He stated that the Council of Ulamas has performed well with the support of the previous administrations and hoped that the present administration will strive to do the same.

Responding, the Chairman of the local government, Alhaji Isah Abdulkarim, thanked the Council of Ulamas for the visit.

The chairman assured them that his administration has put in place a five-point agenda, which is comprised of infrastructural development, security, education and health care services delivery as well as youth/women empowerment.
