The Commissioner for Agriculture in Kogi State, Dr Tim Nda Diche has resigned from the cabinet of Governor Yahaya Bello barely six months after his appointment.
Director General of Media and Publicity to the governor, Mr Kingsley Fanwo announced Diche’s resignation late Wednesday while briefing journalists at the end of the state executive council meeting held at the government house in Lokoja.
Fanwo said the commissioner resigned his appointment on "personal grounds".
He said the governor has since accepted his resignation and wished him well in his future endeavours.
Dr Diche, a former governorship aspirant in the state was amongst the 15 commissioners appointed by Governor Bello in June 2016.
It wasn’t clear if the commissioner had any issue with the governor prior to his resignation.
Daily Trust reports that the governor had recently threatened to sack any commissioner in his cabinet that fails to align with his government’s "new direction" agenda for the state.
