Fanwo said the commissioner resigned his appointment on "personal grounds".

He said the governor has since accepted his resignation and wished him well in his future endeavours.

Dr Diche, a former governorship aspirant in the state was amongst the 15 commissioners appointed by Governor Bello in June 2016.

It wasn’t clear if the commissioner had any issue with the governor prior to his resignation.

Daily Trust reports that the governor had recently threatened to sack any commissioner in his cabinet that fails to align with his government’s "new direction" agenda for the state.
