Following the recent unrest in Southern Kaduna, stakeholders are currently meeting in Kafanchan, Jama’a Local Government Area in the state for a peace summit to find lasting solutions to the lingering crisis in the area.
Speaking at the event, former Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Martin Luther Agwai (Rtd) said the killings in Southern Kaduna spare nobody, regardless of one’s ethnic or religious affiliation and urged stakeholders to pursue peaceful end through peaceful means “At a time when peace has become nobody’s business.”

Gen Agwai was the chairman of the occasion at a three-day Southern Kaduna Peace Summit with the theme; ‘De-escalating Violence in Southern Kaduna.’
In his speech, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission (NCPC), Rev. Dr. Yakubu Pam thanked Governor Nasir El-rufa’i for approving the meeting and promised to endorse the agreement reached at the meeting.
“Our mission here is to facilitate a peace process through dialogue and negotiations as well as enhancing participation and negotiations and cooperation among all stakeholders.”
Also speaking, the Secretary-General of Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI), Kaduna State Chapter, Mallam Ibrahim Kufena said it will take the support and cooperation of all relevant stakeholders for peace to be restored in the area.
The Tetfund Chairman and a Security and Conflict Consultant, Professor Suleiman Bogoro in his part called on the participants to be frank in their submissions as only then will a solution be found.
