The Coalition of the Blind for Sustainable Leadership, an NGO, has called on religions leaders in Zamfara, to join forces in praying for the restoration of peace in the state.
The State Chairman of the group, Alhaji Abdulrahaman Lawali, made the call in Gusau, while speaking at a prayer session organised by members.
Lawali said the current security situation in the state calls for speacial prayers to seek for divine intervention for the government and security forces in fighting various crimes in the state
He commended the effort of the state government on the recent policy of introducing Civilian Join Task Force to compliment the effort of security agencies.
Lawali said the civilian JTF will surely help in identifying the bandits and also guide security personnel to fish them out from their hide outs in the forest.
He appealed to the government to involve the group in governance to enable members contribute their quota especially in things that concerns members.
Also speaking, Malam Bashir Idris, an aide to Gov. Abdul-aziz Abubaka, ommended the initiative of the physically challenged persons in organising the prayers.
Idris urged other members of the communities in the state to emulate them and join in seeking for peace in the state.
He assured the group that he would convey their massage to the governor for consideration. (NAN)
