The community alleged in the petition that Abdullahi was tortured to death by the men of the JTF in Mubi town on April 11, 2015.
In a petition written by their lawyer Barrister Mohammed Marafa, the Muni community said the deceased was tortured to death after he voluntarily submitted himself to them following a raid in his house a day before by the JTF.
According to the petition, “an examination of the deceased corpse at the morgue revealed that all his finger nails were forcefully pulled out and that there were  signs of rope around his neck, signifying that he was hanged to death.”
The petitioners argued that the late Abdullahi returned to his house on Tuesday 8th April and discovered that some soldiers had invaded his house shooting sporadically, ransacked the entire building and took his wife and children away to their base, after two hours.
“Late Mohammed Abdullahi thereafter proceeded to the palace of the Emir of Mubi to report what happened in his house and to inform the royal father of his intention to go to the military base where his wife and children were being held in detention.”
The deceased, on arrival at the military base in Mubi, was said to have been arrested, beaten and taken into custody while all pleas by his family members who were still being detained at the time he arrived there, were allegedly ignored.
