Gunmen have reportedly shot and killed a vigilante, identified simply as Mustapha, in Ankpa LGA of Kogi State.
Residents of Ankpa town said the incident happened around 11pm at the Ejeh Palace Gate in the Owele area of Ankpa on Saturday.
A witness explained that the gunmen came in a Toyota Hilux and shot the victim at the Ejeh Palace Gate or Chairman Quarter Junction Owele in Ankpa by 11pm on Saturday, killing the young man.
Following the killing, City & Crime learnt that residents have threatened war if nothing was done to uncover the culprits.

A resident, Mallam Usman Abubakar, said, “The incident sparked a wave of grief and anger throughout the community, prompting calls for justice and improved security measures.
“The loss of such a courageous individual who volunteered his time and efforts to ensure the safety of the community is a devastating blow that demands urgent attention.”
The Kogi State Police Command’s spokesman, SP William Aya, did not reply to an SMS on the incident.
