The Chairman of Karu LGA of Nasarawa State, Mr James Thomas, has called on residents to be vigilant and report any clandestine movement to the security agencies.
Mr Thomas’ call, contained in a statement on Tuesday by his spokesman, Uba Magaji, followed the kidnapping of the Chief of Gurku and his wife on Monday night.
The statement reads in part: “These criminals have succeeded in instilling fear in our people who go about their lawful businesses by abducting them for ransom.
“I wish to reassure the people of Karu that we are on top of the situation; to ensure the quick release of His Royal Highness and his wife by their abductors.’’ (NAN)
