Kidnapping: I will go to any length to protect you, Sule assures Nasarawa residents

The Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, has vowed to go to any length to safeguard the lives and properties of residents amid rising incidences of kidnappings and banditry, particularly in parts of Lafia, the capital.

The governor made the pledge after a meeting with the heads of security agencies held behind closed doors, according to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra.

He assured that his administration would exhaust all possible measures to combat the escalating threats posed by kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements across the state.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to providing maximum support to security agencies, enabling them to fulfil their duties effectively and efficiently. He urged them to address security breaches in the state’s 13 local government areas.

He also expressed grave concern over the disturbing trend of abductions in Lafia, where innocent citizens are being brazenly kidnapped for ransom.

Meanwhile, the Nigeria Police Force in Nasarawa State has vowed to eliminate kidnappers, bandits, and other criminal elements in the Deere community area of Obi Local Government Area.

Umar Shehu-Nadada, the Commissioner of Police for Nasarawa State, reaffirmed the command’s commitment during a meeting with a delegation from the Deere Youth Organisation on Tuesday in Lafia, the state capital.

The police commissioner emphasised that the police, alongside other security agencies, are actively working to address the security challenges and ensure the safety of the entire state.

He noted that the state government has pledged additional logistical support to assist the police and allied agencies in eradicating criminal activities across the state’s 13 local government areas.
